I like to keep Christmas shopping simple. A Super Sale
at DaySpring caught my eye yesterday. I’d like to share it with you.
I like to keep my inbox free of advertisements. But, it’s also smart to take advantage of a good sale when you know there is shopping to be done. The mailing lists I opt-into is very short. DaySpring is one of them.
I’m not adventurous when it comes to home decor, but it’s easy when it’s Christmas. Christmas is my favorite time of the year.
When I was single, I always treasured putting up a Christmas tree, but most of the celebration took place at church, in ministry outings or gatherings in people’s homes. I didn’t do much with decorating for the holidays.
Since I became a mom, celebrating Jesus’ birth with husband and two boys — sharing the joy and peace of Christ in and through our home — is one of my heart-core ministries.
The Saturday After
Today is the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
That only means one thing here at the Gray family. I wake up to coffee and tell my boys —
It’s time to put up Christmas! It’s Jesus’ birthday!
Helping the boys visually see the home both vibrant and restful to celebrate Jesus is something I enjoy doing every year.
I’ve started slowly adding meaningful and simple Christmas pieces that convey the real message of Jesus to the children and guests who come through our home during the holidays.
Meaningful Ideas
Yesterday, as I prepared to enjoy a quiet day after Thanksgiving, I saw an email from DaySpring announcing a Special Super Sale and 30% OFF Discount Code: SUPER30.

1. Wooden Message Block Set – Sale $15.00
I actually didn’t buy this set yesterday, but I received it as a gift earlier this year. It’s added a stylish and encouraging atmosphere to our home.
It’s on sale for a great price.
I have these lined up on our mantel, in the living room where the kids play and when guests enter in.
I change the words every month or so, for a new theme (like “love”). When I do, I introduce it to the kids and it’s usually a word that integrates into the season we’re in (you know my love of words!). The kids love seeing it change and remember the theme.
2. Nativity – Trio Tea Light Holder – Sale $9.99
This is a beautiful gift idea that I just love. There are inspirational words inscribed at the bottom. I imagine my friends lighting silhouettes that give a quiet, soft ambiance to peaceful evenings, conducive to conversation and times for journaling.
3. Nativity Hurricane Candle Holder Trio – Sale $23.99
This hurricane set is held in wooden bases and metal cut-out silhouettes of the first Noel. It feels rustic and I can’t wait to have the kids see the nativity scene etched as they reflect shadows along the window sill. I got this for our home this year.
4. Love Came Down – Mug $9.99 (+ addt’l 30% OFF using discount code: Super30)
I picked out this beautiful Christmas mug for Hubby, quiet times, and me (you know I love coffee!).
I love that this new “Love Come Down” Christmas line can be used during the year.
It’s also a wonderful gift idea I love customizing by throwing in a couple packets of my favorite teas (Good Earth Sweet Tea, Peppermint, & Chamomile) and pair with a bottle of honey. Perfect for cozying up with a book, writing a prayer or spending time with a friend.
5. God’s Heart For Me $9.99 (+addt’l 30% OFF using discount code: Super30).
I already have a copy of sweet friend Holley Gerth’s faith-inspiring gift book, but in case you had your eye on it, you can use the discount code to enjoy it too.
6. One Thousand Gifts $16.99 (+addt’l 30% OFF using discount code: Super30 + Free App)
My friend Ann Voskamp has a free One Thousand Gifts App for counting the ways God is good to you.
The free App is available here.
The book is available here.
7. Fisher Price Little People – Nativity Set – $44.99 (At Amazon)
Do you shop at Amazon? If so, I wanted to add this Christmas idea.
I purchased this when I was pregnant with TJ six years ago. It’s been a wonderful tool to teach the Christmas Story in a way that even toddlers understand. When I first set it up, I act out the story with the figurines and sing the season’s first Christmas carol “Away in a Manger” with the boys (it lights up & plays music). On Christmas Eve, I do it again with room dimmed, candles lit and tree lights on.
TJ and two-year-old CJ love playing with it every year. Their little friends play with it when they’re over for playdates & I’ve seen both boys introduce baby Jesus to others easily! They are always happy to see it come out and sad to see it packed!
This is pricey, but worth the investment. The one pictured here is the older version I have that lights up & plays “Away In The Manger”. Shepherds sold separately. (A newer version doesn’t have music or light up, but costs less).
