{one of my favorite #spiritualwhitespace. crissy field, SF. a day before Christmas.}
There’s a quiet, peaceful pocket of spiritual whitespace this Christmas afternoon.
And I want to spend it writing to you.
The boys are playing with their new Legos set, Eric is reading in his favorite chair with a cup of coffee, and I’m here, sitting next to him, with the crisp of the afternoon sunlight on my shoulder, listening to my favorite Christmas song this year.
Can I share it with you? It’s been a deep, soulful prayer. Maybe it speaks to your heart too?
It’s called Breath of Heaven, sung by Sara Groves.
Just click on the audio link below and enjoy a moment of spiritual whitespace with God.
“Breath of Heaven, hold me together, be forever near me.”
Merry Christmas, sweet kindreds.
You mean more to me than you will ever know. For words are where my heart has found refuge with God — and it’s here in this stillness and safety of words, you’ve met with me this year and called me friend.
May God bless you and those you love — and may you find refreshment and rest as a new year approaches.
I have two very special videos to share with you.
If you click on the 15 second video clip below, you see my son Josh just had a few lines in the church Christmas play. But, I waited on the edge of my seat with anticipation.
My heart exploded with joy hearing his voice.
It reminded me this is how God must feel when He hears our voice.
We may feel small and insignificant, but God whispers, “I love you. you are mine.”
The second soul-prompting video blessed me this week, with a feeling of joy — and prompted me to come to Jesus with new eyes and refreshed hope.
I call it Come Running Christmas. Just click on the video below and enjoy this soulful invitation.

We can never be fully ready for Christmas. We don’t need to be.
Jesus came to love us. as is.
Don’t give up finding your voice.
Let’s journey together. The closer we come to Jesus, we”ll find ourselves longing for a new intimacy with Jesus. One where we bare our hearts and speak to him as face to face.
Jesus longs to be born in us. Anew. Today.
Merry Christmas, sweet kindreds.
With love and kinship affection,
Bonnie

Merry Christmas! Thank you friend. A friend made me a special spiritual whitespace ornament. It was a clear bulb, she used white glitter on the inside of it, then filled it with over 100 Bible verses. She has heard me and listened to me as I have been seeking my whitespace. She wanted me to have a tangible reminder throughout the year to seek spiritual whitespace. I am going to find a special place to hang it all year round. Love you and thank you for sharing your heart.
merry Christmas! would love to see a picture… 🙂 sounds soul special … you are loved by your friend!
I wrote this last night at 4am… before I read your devotional! Xo
I love your postings and your book!
What?
What will you say when you meet Him?
What will you say face to face?
Will you cringe in abject misery…
Or kneel in gratitude and grace?!
What will you say when you meet Him?
What will you say face to face?
Will you feel flumoxided and guilty…
Or will you praise Him for His incredible grace?
What will you say when you meet Him?
What will you say face to face?
Will you stand shamed faced and angry…
Or be awed by magnificent grace?
What will you say when you meet Him?
What will you say face to face?
Will you be utterly speechless…
Or drop to your knees in worshipful grace?
What will you say when you meet Him?
What will you say face to face?
Will you be grateful and overjoyed…
Or will you thank Him for the light of grace?
What will you say when you meet Jesus?
What will you say face to face?
Will you acknowledge His Lordship?
And will you accept His gift of grace?
Love, Pat
