We live in a world that is good at problem solving. Have a problem, just Google your question and a slew of search results offer you a different approach. Our world rewards productivity and results. We are so thin on time, we become fearful of wasting whatever slivers of time we have.
We forget that for life is a journey to experience God and not a plan to execute for him. We need to remember the most beautiful things in life, that truly sustain and give us meaning, take time to grow and be nurtured.
We were made to be God’s beloved. Renewed. Vibrant.
He’s placed in us a part of Him that no amount of productivity, goal-setting, or accomplishment can fulfill. God’s placed in you and me a spiritual whitespace, a longing for beauty and rest that awakens with feelings of desire or even weariness.
It’s in those honest moments of reflection, God’s quiet voice still whispers to us and invites us to be known.
When my soul is troubled, I need to stop and hear God’s words of love — rather than distracting myself with doing more and ignoring my heart.
Is your soul feeling weary too — even though you’re getting things done and all looks well on the outside?
Sweet Kindreds, the next time worries start to threaten your peace, remember these 7 beautiful promises from God. Which one speaks to your heart today?
I wrote 7 Promises from God for When You Feel Troubled for iBelieve.com last week & want to share this soul mocha with you. From my heart to yours.
7 Promises from God to Remember When You Feel Troubled
Even among the daily routine, there is a quiet Voice — God’s whispers of love — that no amount of busyness, weakness, guilt, failure, brokenness, stress, or hurt can erase:
1. I will be your shelter. I will be your home. No matter where your journey takes you, you belong to Me. “You are my shelter and my shield; I put my hope in Your word.” (Psalm 119:114)
… to be continued.

Oh Beautiful Bonnie! Thank you. Thank you for this! I don’t often comment, but I very often read–with delight–the grace words God speaks through you. Such a fragrant cuppa today, Sister!
“2. No matter who hurts you with their words, I will heal you. I am your safe place.”In the shelter of your presence you hide them from all human intrigues; you keep them safe in your dwelling from accusing tongues.” (Psalm 31:20)”
This I inhale.
Thank you, Bonnie. I really needed these Words of Encouragement today. Praise the LORD in Jesus’ Name. Great reminders of His Love and Character.
May you be blessed today, Bonnie, one of my favorite encouragers. I thankfully was reminded of your lovely, welcoming website and rhythmic writing as I read Webster’s definition of happiness:
3. (n.) Fortuitous elegance; unstudied grace; — used especially of language.
Many good thoughts and prayers to you and yours, to all the kindreds, in Christ. Thank you for sharing in His Sweet Name.
