Sometimes, life calls us to do something really radical. If we don’t, life may continue on just the way it always has been: busy. Restless. Uninspired.
We need to stop. Pause. We need to step out of busy — and set our hearts free.
We need to hear God’s whispers intimately. For you. And me.
And guess what? We can do this simply.
I have a simple invitation for you to create a new rhythm for your soul this year.
Experience this journey to be the Beloved — by doing a simple practice together.

Wednesday Rhythm To Hear God’s Whispers in 2016:
#OneWordCoffee With Me
Over the holiday break, I got inspired about an exciting new idea! This new #OneWordCoffee series inspires us to make space in a simple way, to be present, hear God’s whispers, to be renewed & refreshed. ?
I’m kicking kick off #OneWordCoffee – a new series to inspire your One Word for 2016 and create space to hear God’s whispers on our journey this year.
And psst… I’ll have a special giveaway for our launch!
Tomorrow 1/6 and next Wednesday’s 1/13 prompt: What is Your One Word for 2016?
How It Works:
Every Wednesday, I invite you to stop, pause, & reflect on a One Word prompt.
Then, you share how the One Word speaks to you: ☕️
1. Simply post a comment -or-
2. Write a blog post and link up on Wednesdays. I’ll setup a blog link up button. Read the post before yours, comment to say hi and encourage. * Please insert the #OneWordCoffee badge (see below) in your post & link back. -or-
3. Post & tag photos with #OneWordCoffee on Facebook or Instagram that inspires the one word prompt for you (feel free to create art with the prompt).
Let’s step away and be alone with God, to hear His voice — to be renewed and restored.
Together, let’s create space to breathe.
Let’s be who God created us to be: the Beloved. God’s beloved. As is.

My word for this year is short…. “in”. The very scripture which lead me to be born again, was John 15:5….”I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit: apart from me you can do nothing. This is so powerful. I have a very similar story as you do Bonnie, and when I fell in love with Jesus….I was 42 years old. I am so thankful for your story and inspiration. I would be honored to suggest that perhaps your next book could be a picture book….You have posted so many beautiful photos on faith barista I would love to have them all….Thank you so much!
Hi Bonnie,
My one word for 2016 is “able”. I want to focus on the facts that He is able and I am too, through Him who strengthens me. Thanks for your time, support & inspiration!
In His Love,

Thanks for inviting to have a cup of coffee and to hear an inspiration word from the Lord.
My Word for 2016 is REJOICE.
My Word for 2016 is REST. Thanks so much Bonnie for this verse:
“Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him,
for he shields him all day long,
and the one the Lord loves rests between his shoulders.” Deut33:12
My word is WALK.
Dearest Bonnie,
I have a computer which was a gift from a friend. I am hoping to join in and write more again. But it might take me awhile to learn how to do things on this laptop. Still trying to figure out some basic stuff. But it allows me to write again. I am so excited.
My word is “wholehearted” 🙂
All of the words above opened my heart. Blessings upon all.
My word for 2016 is “Water.” I will share the spiritual water this year, I overflow with living water, this is in reference to John chapter 4.

I’ve been thinking about the one word a year thing…& I guess I personally don’t have it figured out because the word that keeps coming to MY mind is struggle… It’s not a “nice” word…it’s not a comfy word. But that is STILL where I feel I am.., maybe because I come from a long line of controlling type A personalities & as much as I fought against it late teenager/early adult…it’s still very much apart of my makeup that definitely comes out in times of stress or emotional issues.. Or even sticky situations with my 3 girls.
I’m not sure what I want to accomplish with my word..or how to change(?) how to make it work(?) for me.
My word for 2016 is HOPE. as in my HOPE is in the Lord. 2015 was TRUST. as in learning to TRUST in the Lord with all my heart. It was an incredible year of seeing that word over and over and being reminded I CAN trust my faithful, loving God, ABBA Father. It was an incredible year of growth in my spiritual life as I dedicated more time to His promises, prayer, and listening and doing my best to obey. I look forward to seeing where HOPE will lead me. I chose it in part because of Cynthia Ruchti and her books that are filled with HOPE. She has a quote the we will not unravel, because we are “hemmed in hope.”
Came upon my word for the year kind of funny way , I think, by way of one of those Facebook quizzes. Just did it for fun, but when word “wisdom” came up and I stopped and thought about this past year’s journey. It is fitting that wisdom would be a focus this year. As I have been resting, renewing, making space in my life, reflecting on areas of my life that God has been walking me through, I am reminded of a take away from a recent message at church, “to create a new pattern as an adult follower of Jesus.” This will take wisdom and more. So be it!
My word for 2016 is BELIEVE!
Tear down the lies that keeps me from receiving what is already mine.
BELIEVE…God is who He says He is.
BELIEVE in the FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST—not just for others, believe it; own it as my own. As I read the promise, I insert my name. I make it PERSONAL…God’s promise to Vicki.
I test myself. I ask, “Do I believe this is true?”
“Yes”.
Do I “believe it is true for ME?” Aw…
If I’m honest with myself; often, the answer is “No”.
REVEAL the lie; REPLACE it with God’s truth.
CHOOSE to BELIEVE – ALIGN myself with what God says.
DECLARE it over my life for it is TRUTH—regardless of what I am feeling, regardless of what I’m seeing all around me…REPLACE FALSE BELIEFS with truth. Proclaim the truth until it is manifested in my life, though I may not “see” it right now, I must BELIEVE it.
I look at it like this. Many of us order online. We can’t see, feel, or touch the actual item; however, we place the order KNOWING they have it in the warehouse. We order it & wait for it with full confidence and assurance that it is ours. We accept with certainty, the item is already ours, though we do not have it in sight or in hand.
BELIEVING is the same. We can’t see it. We can’t touch or feel it, but we wait with full confidence that what we need is in our heavenly Father’s warehouse; provided by the FINISHED work of Jesus Christ. We have only to ask and …
BELIEVE!
Be blessed!
Vicki
My one word is “intentional”. I want to live my life intentionally for God. I want to dig deep into my soul and use my creativity for His kingdom, whatever that means. He knows my heart and I long to be more intentional every day.
My word for 2016 is “facing”. Facing the reality of what happened to me within my family in order to let God.
