Dear Bonnie,
I am so excited for this newest book of yours, and the journey that you are leading us all on! Today, I heard the word “Rest” as Jesus spoke that He is taking me farther on the path He has planned for me. I don’t have to fear that it will be too hard, because He provides rest along the way! –Blessings to you as you share your words!
Hi Bonnie. I have only read the first two chapters of your book, and I find it so filled with hope in Jesus. This quote is so applicable for me – “Don’t listen to those voices. Step closer to the One Voice who knows you.” I so need that reminder as those negative voices can be so strong sometimes. And I love the idea of the One Word Prayer! I am trying to put it into practice more often. I am looking forward to reading more and to promoting your encouraging book. Love and hugs to you!
I love the word, “rest”. It’s not something I do enough as a Mom of 5 young little people. The Bible says to rest on the 7th day, and I really try to do that keeping in mind that Jesus also rested. When He rested, prayer to His Father was involved.(See Mt 14:23). Another verse that speaks to me about rest is Psalms 37:7 Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him, do not fret because of him who prospers in his way. Does resting involve waiting for Jesus to show up, so we can spend time together?
Hi Bonnie!! I read your article 7 Ways to Find Healing from your Hurtful Mom.
I want to start off by saying thank you!! It is refreshing to know that we are not alone…. I was carrying a lot of guilt and shame that I was not able to have a good mother/daughter relationship. I don’t feel guilty any more knowing that I belong to God’s spiritual family!! He has my back at all times.. I trust and have faith in God!! I also grieved the loss of ever having a good relationship with my mom(“Even if my father and mother abandon me. the Lord will hold me close), and now have wonderful spiritual friends who are( as you mentioned “gracious, good listeners, and kind” ) A big thanks you!! I’m passing along your article to a few of my friends who can benefit from it:)
Hi Tina! I can’t tell you how HAPPY it is to hear you share – and so wonderful the article reassured you to let go of the guilt you – and I don’t need to carry. There is NO shame and in fact, I have discovered being open to share has given me a wonderful new connections – to friends and spiritual family we can create new memories of love and care. It makes us compassionate and also kind hearted. And we can comfort each other when we feel the ache of missing that mom-daughter relationship that God understands are make us feel the pangs. And we can help each other. 🙂 thnx for sharing with your friends!
