Author Henri Nouwen shares “Many voices ask for our attention. There is a voice that says, ‘Prove that you are a good person.’ …’Nobody really cares about you,’ and one that says, ‘Be sure to become successful, popular, and powerful.’ But underneath all these often very noisy voices is a still, small voice that says, ‘You are my Beloved. My favor rests on you.’ That’s what prayer is. It is listening to the voice that calls us ‘my Beloved’.”
God himself tells us “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3
But, what is perfect peace and how can we experience it – especially when we feel troubled?
Today’s Advent Podcast – Spark Peace, Letting Go of Your Grip to Blossom With God’s Peace – explores this question. (Email subscribers: click here to listen)

A Prayer of Peace For Your Heart Today
Dear Jesus,
May all the things that burden my friend
who is hear reading quietly
be lifted by your gentle touch of love.
Reassure her of your presence
and allow her to soften into your embrace.
Whisper to her just what she needs
in the moment, words just for her.
Remind her that you are always with her.
You’ll never leave her.
And may the peace of your gentleness
and faithfulness
draw her close to you.
So she can rest in your love for her today.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
