Good morning, Bonnie! I loved the podcast and as an avid podcast listener I’m thrilled to find another one that speaks to my heart, mind, and soul. I have not “met” Kathi Lipp before so hearing from her on the podcast was a treat. Isn’t it just like God to provide a book that is so perfect for the times we are living in? There are no mistakes with God.
I enjoyed the podcast. It was a reminder to schedule pockets of rest to be refreshed so that you can refresh others. As a result there will be clarity in saying yes to God.
I really enjoyed this podcast! Thank you! My biggest take away was the five minute plan. I love that question. What would you do in the first five minutes after a disaster happens. So much to think about!
I have been thinking about decluttering more. The statement Kathy made about clutter being about the past encouraged me to get started again!
Hello, I opened yesterday’s e-mail post (Monday, 25th May) and went to the podcast with Kathi Lipp. It says above that I should comment to be entered into the give-away, but then it says it ended on the 20th of May!
I’m still going to mention the most helpful things I heard:
“Decluttering takes care of the past and preparing takes care of the future” and
“The goal is to be a little more prepared today than I was yesterday.”
I’ll work on remembering those two things and taking action so they will happen. 🙂 In His grace, Kay
Thank you for sharing this Bonnie. I will love God with all my heart and let these words be in my heart. I love your podcast!
Blessings to you Bonnie, Thank you for sharing your message. Many things you shared on your podcast ministered to me. What Kathi Lipp shared about taking 5 minutes to plan out in case of a crisis was really helpful. I have a son with Asperger’s who stresses easily about the future. He will be 22 in August and worries about the future and if he will ever be capable of independent living as it relates to some of his challenges. To keep it brief I think that taking time to sit down and do a five minute talk about these things will be helpful to help him and myself to start addressing these worries rather than stress about them. It’s much less stressful to see things in small steps as a way to address the fears. Her tip to be a little more prepared today than then day before is a more manageable way to proceed rather than to get overwhelmed by them.
Also, I had just got off the the phone with my therapist after crying (my therapy is online now because of the COVID-19) and we talked about the very things you mentioned. I listened to this podcast and was blessed. I typically rush off. I feel I have no time to do things for myself that I enjoy, and that lift me up. I was reminded that the Lord loves me just the way I am. Perhaps the most important goal in our lives is to spend time developing our relationship with Him. I’m easily overwhelmed and “haunted by my to-do list & tasks” feeling God isn’t pleased with me if I don’t get everything done. To hear you talk about how about how flowers can lift your mood and sense of well-being encouraged me that I am worth those few extra pennies to spend on myself, also that I am more valuable to God then even these beautiful flowers really lifted my spirit. The encouragement to taking some time, “white space” to refresh myself and spend time with Lord ministered to me. I am His beloved, wow. I realize that I’m not wasting time when I take time to be with Him. It’s okay to rest. This is something I need to hear more often. Thank you again.
