Earlier this week, I felt overwhelmed. It hit me all of a sudden even though I thought I felt fine. The more I tried to think about what was bothering me, the more I started to worry.
Do you find that happens to you too? In these challenging times with so much changing all the time – the news, our loved ones, our finances – how we’re doing everyday things like grocery shopping, where we can go adn who we can – our social, work and family lives have completely changed.
In such uncertainty, we can feel turned around without a reference point. This is normal, because the way God created us, we desire safety. God gently reminds us that He is our safety. He is with us and He will never leave us.
So, I’ve been needing extra reminders of God’s nearness this week. Maybe you too? Isn’t it wonderful we can always turn to Him?
Every morning, I take a walk around my neighborhood. And when it’s been really stressful, I go again at the end of the day or even mid-day. As I noticed the leaves, flowers and beautiful growth, God’s loving voice came to me in promise that surfaced on my heart –
?“Whether you turn to the right or to the left,
you will hear a word behind you,
‘This is the way, walk in it.’” Is.30:21
As I meditated on this verse, a prayer emerged. May it be guide you too.
Dear Jesus,
When I can’t see ahead,
help me to take your hand and surrender my plans.
Let your nearness be my comfort.
Your loving voice, my guide.
Amen.
TODAY’S SOUL CARE PRACTICE
When You Don’t Know What to Do:
{REMEMBRANCE}
.So, I turned to the soul care practice of REMEMBRANCE. I reminded myself God will take care of me and his plan will be something I see later, not now. And I began to remember all the times God guided me.
? Do you need to feel the loving touch of God’s hand in yours? Tell him all your confusion. Gently open your hands to confide in prayer to him, whether on a walk, listening to a song, or sipping tea next to your window.
Think of all the ways God guided you in the past. Notice that God’s answer or direction mostly likely didn’t come the way you expected, right? That’s how faith works. His guidance comes in ways we can’t see until the moment God provides. Like manna that quietly, beautifully emerges by God’s hand.
Ask Jesus for His direction. Just one next step. Then listen. His love will guide your way.
Use today’s prayer in today’s newsletter image, as open hands to receive what God has already promised us.

Absolutely! When I get feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, I choose to be grateful instead. I always reflect on how God has provided for me through past struggles.
