I'm Bonnie, your Soul Care Mentor!

I still remember how exhausted and alone I felt overwhelmed with stress, worry, & anxiety.

I was a life-long Christian who loved Jesus, Bible Studies, prayer, and people along with tea, pastries, & serving in ministry. But, I suddenly began having severe stress, anxiety, & panic attacks as a mom of two boys.

As I blinked my tears away, unable to sleep, I realized even though I knew how to be strong & take care of others – I didn't know what it meant to take care of myself.

I lost my spark. I lost the spring in my step and the song in my heart. Peace and joy were missing. I was surviving, but I felt tired and uninspired.

Something needed to change. I began a powerful journey to learn SOUL CARE to nurture my wellness with Jesus using scripture + science.

WHAT IS SOUL CARE?
Soul care is not selfish or unspiritual.

"Soul care is the practice of letting God nourish and tend to our bodies and emotions, the way God intended when he designed our nervous system and well-being. Soul Care is tending the garden of your soul, like soil nourishes seeds of "flowers’, so that you can blossom into the woman God created you to be.

Soul Care is based on Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28-29:
“Come to me those who are weary and heavy-burdened…and I will give you rest for your souls.”

So, practicing soul care isn’t selfish. It is a spiritual act of faith to believe you are worthy of rest. That you’re worth loving.

Soul care help you release more of God’s love, peace, and joy to your children, friends, and family because you’re not tapped out. It’s like the instructions to put your oxygen mask on when you fly. Put on or own oxygen mask first, before helping others."

I’m Bonnie Gray & I'm a soul care coach, author of four books, speaker, and host of the Breath Podcast. I help women detox from stress, worry, and anxiety – to find their spark of joy again, by learning how to take better care of themselves to flourish in emotional wellness. I'm a trusted voice of faith writing for Proverbs 31 Ministries, (in)courage, Crosswalk, Relevant Magazine, and Christianity Today.

Because the honest truth is – scientific studies back this up – women suffer from burnout more than men! Whether single or married – if you're pouring out as a mom or grandma with little ones or teens, a career woman, student, or ministry leader – we pour out non-stop. We’re so busy taking care of everyone else, we forget about our wellbeing. And that’s not good because God cares about you. How you feel matters to God.

Well the good news is that just like flower petals get refreshed in water, we can get refreshed by taking time for ourselves to do simple soul care actions too!

3-Step Breathe Rhythm

As you take this journey to transform moments of chaos to calm, I will guide you to experience a simple, powerful rhythm to breathe and respond to stress:

Breathe in Truth. Refresh your spirit with God’s loving words of affirimation. Encourage your heart with God’s loving promises in Scripture to empower you in your true identity as God’s beloved daughter. Renew your mind with the truth of what God says about you.

Breath Prayer. Release your stress using calming, breath-oriented prayers. Use each short, simple “breath prayer” to relax, following the rhythm of your breathing, bringing focus and calm. You will feel closer to God and experi- ence his peace and presence.

Soul Care Challenge and Tip. Restore peace and joy to your body and emotions using simple soul care tips based on science. Detoxing from stress and taking better care of yourself is like enjoying a trail with beautiful vista points among the trees.
